Book Club meet monthly to discuss and review the chosen book off the list. Our choice of books are enjoyable reads and cover a range of genres.

If you have never been part of a book club but enjoy reading and would enjoy sharing your thoughts about books, then give it a try.

Gladys Pye, the co-ordinator for a group called Square Heads in Solihull Widney, has contacted us with the following information about their book group see info below:

"We call ourselves Square Heads firstly, because there are three other book groups and also because we are a little different. We do not meet on a regular day or monthly. We agree on a book and decide on a few dates in advance according to people's commitments and also on how many pages or chapters of a book we want to read. So, no book a month. This is because we often choose longer books or ones which seem daunting to tackle on your own. We have read War and Peace (long, but really not difficult), The Leopard (short and interesting). These are by Russian and Italian authors; we read from any country or era (The Odyssey, The Sea, The Sea by Iris Murdoch, Midnight's Children by Salman Rushdie).

If anyone is interested you would only have to pay the cost of associate membership to join Solihull Widney u3a Square Heads, which is useful, in case of accidental spillage, for example, on someone's new pale carpet!"
